Dorothy Looper

Dorothy Looper, born on January 31, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, in Danville, Indiana, at the age of 92. She was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Dora Hartman and the youngest of eight siblings.
On December 29, 1951, Dorothy married Alvie Looper, with whom she shared over 50 years of loving marriage until his passing. She was a devoted mother to her daughters Karen Looper and Donna (Bill) Records, her son Alvie Michael Looper, and her stepson Doug Looper. Dorothy was also a cherished grandmother to Timothy Schultz, Victoria (Noble) McFann, Natosha Webbe, Elizabeth Cobb, and Michael Webbe, as well as a proud great-grandmother to Kailey Cobb, DiAndre Webbe, Jada Webbe, Ashton Webbe, Emily Schultz, and Gabriel Webbe.
Dorothy earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ball State University and dedicated her life to serving others. She spent seven years as a youth leader at Calvary United Methodist Church in Dunkirk, Indiana. In 1980, she moved to Rocky Ford, Colorado, where she worked as a houseparent for eight developmentally disabled adults for nine years. Alongside her husband, Dorothy also owned and operated the Country Morning Coffee Shop and Bakery in Rocky Ford from 1982 to 2001.
A woman of deep faith, Dorothy found joy in reading her Bible daily and praying for others. She enjoyed puzzles, word searches, playing the accordion and piano, and watching cooking and travel shows.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Alvie Looper; her parents; her seven siblings; and Kip Morgan.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 9, at the Chapel at Connection Pointe Christian Church, 1800 N Green St., Brownsburg, IN. Family will arrive at 9:30 a.m., with visitation at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 10:30 a.m.
Dorothy’s legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

We remember back with fondness (Dunkirk chapter of her life) how friendly and warm Dorothy was to us and anyone she knew or didn’t know. She was a woman of faith. Always had a smile
She is hearing well done faithful servant for a life lived well. that touched the lives of so many others and a race well ran.
