She attended Saint Thomas High School before earning her degree in elementary education from Northern Kentucky University, later continuing her studies there to obtain a Master’s degree in education.

Nancy devoted her career to shaping young minds, teaching lower grades at several schools in the Diocese of Covington before finding her permanent home at St. Mary School in Alexandria, Kentucky where she taught for 38 years. Nancy retired in 2018.

Beyond the classroom, Nancy was a light in the lives of those who knew her. She possessed an innate kindness and a sunny disposition that made the world around her a better place. She believed in the power of education, the importance of compassion, and the beauty of small, everyday moments shared with loved ones.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Blossom Martin. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Burkardt (Nick), and their children, Lisa and Angela; her brother, Dale Martin (Jan), and Dale’s children, Christopher, Jason, Kimberly, and Nathan; as well as several great-nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

A Memorial Mass will be held on February 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, located at 8246 East Main Street, Alexandria, Kentucky 41001. The family will receive visitors at the church starting at 10:00 am on February 22. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Mary's School at 9 S. Jefferson Street, Alexandria, Kentucky 41001.
