Patricia "Pat" Eileen Shambo

Patricia “Pat” Eileen Shambo, 86, born in Louisville, Kentucky, on November 25, 1938, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 24, 2025, at a local hospital.
Pat loved music and often reminisced about playing the piccolo and flute in her high school marching band. She retired from the local university where she worked in Information Technology and served on the staff senate. A passionate sports fan, Pat held season tickets for football and enjoyed attending basketball games. She also loved reading, traveling, playing cards, listening to sports radio, and trying new recipes.
She is survived by her brother, her four children, twelve grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and five siblings.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 28 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a bereavement reception.

Pat was my rock! no matter how down I might be she was always there to talk to! Never called her enough or told her that I loved her enough times. Big Blue nation was not exactly her favorite team or color as far as that goes. one time while visiting me it started raining fairly heavy. I got an umbrella out of the trunk that happened to be blue and white. when I put it up and she immediately noticed the colors she in her German stubbornness told me, “I would rather get wet”
