A Life of Energy, Love, and Creative Spirit

Sherri Lee Goyer, a woman of vibrant spirit and boundless energy, passed away on January 12, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born on May 30, 1959, she lived a life defined by compassion, creativity, and unshakable strength.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Joseph and Juanita Cox; her devoted parents, Dariel Lee Cox and Charlotte Hope Johnson-Cox; and her treasured sons, Charles Edward Chester Jr. and Mark Paul Goyer Jr.

Sherri is survived by her loving husband, Mark Paul Goyer Sr., and her first husband, Charles Edward Chester Sr. She leaves behind her cherished daughter, Sandra Lee Chester-McMillan, her son-in-law Devin William McMillan, and her three adored grandchildren—Nathaniel, Axzara, and Averen. She is also survived by her sisters, Jonni Carmen and Susan Carter; her brother, Dariel Cox; and many beloved friends and extended family members who will forever hold her memory dear.

From a very young age, Sherri embraced the value of hard work. She was a passionate entrepreneur who founded her own housekeeping business and served some of Naples, Florida’s most distinguished families with grace and excellence. Her dedication to her work was unmatched—and even in retirement, she never stopped creating.

When she wasn’t working, she brought joy and beauty into the world through her many hobbies: decorating, gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, fishing, camping, swimming, boating, and more. She had a high-energy presence and an artistic soul—there was nothing she wouldn’t try. A true animal lover, Sherri nurtured birds, cats, and dogs with deep affection. She was also known for her one-of-a-kind style and her love of fashion trends.

Sherri's legacy is one of love, color, courage, and creativity. She inspired everyone around her with her passion, generosity, and joyful spirit. To be in her presence was to feel seen, uplifted, and loved.

She will be deeply missed, endlessly remembered, and forever cherished.
