Toyoko Maekawa Case
September 20, 1930 – March 31, 2025
Toyoko Maekawa Case was born on September 20, 1930, in Takamiya, Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan. She entered Heaven on March 31, 2025, at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her son, James Eugene Case, and her husband of 54 years, Stanley R. Case.
She was a woman of strength, warmth, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a family who adored her: her children—Gary (Lisa) Case of Colón, Panama; Karen (Rick) Drake of Vine Grove, Kentucky; and Ricky (Darlene) Case of Palm Bay, Florida; She was the proud grandmother of Kasey Johnson, Kari Choi, Timothy Case, Kathryn Sierra, Hope Case, Gary Case Jr., Jennifer Loseke, and David Reynolds, and the joyful great-grandmother of several amazing great-grandkids.
Toyoko had an adventurous spirit that took her traveling whenever she could, but her greatest joy was always her family. No matter where she was, she made time for the people she loved.
Her faith was the anchor of her life, and she was a faithful member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY. She lived 94 incredible years—strong, independent, and with no regrets. She loved deeply, gave generously, and left a mark on every heart she touched.
Her love and laughter will be missed, but her legacy will live on in the family and friends who will carry her memory forward.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery Pavillion in Radcliff, KY

I loved Aunt Betty. Our parents moved out of state when we were very young. My memory of Aunt Betty was her kindness. We spent a lot of time at her house with our cousins. She was a special person and dearly loved by all of us. She’ll be sorely missed. Comforted in knowing she’s with Jesus.
