April, 16, 1957 - January, 07, 2021

LOUISVILLE - Daniel Lawrence Heck, 63, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 7, 2021, surrounded by his family.  Danny was born on April 16th, 1957, to the late V. James Heck and Mary Nally Heck. He attended St. Agnes, St. X (‘75), and Loyola University New Orleans. While working for his father at the Heck Equipment Co., he developed his signature work ethic & business acumen. He married the love of his life, Lisa Haming, on June 15th, 1979 and together they had three children. He and Lisa owned and operated the Highlands Educational Center for Kids for 22 years and Seidenfaden’s Cafe with his son, Jimmy. All who knew him would say he was intelligent, witty, loyal, and could fix anything. He enjoyed decades of making memories at beautiful Lake Cumberland with friends and family. On September 5th, 2017, he was fortunate to receive the gift of life via lung transplant. His family will be forever grateful for three extra years together, and give special thanks to Tanya & Dr. Baz at the UK Transplant Center for the excellent care Danny received.  Danny is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike. He is survived by his wife Lisa; children Jimmy (Ashley), Betsy (Mike), & Emily (Brandon); grandchildren Casper, Evelyn, & Henry; siblings Jim, Steve, and Beth; as well as many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  In lieu of flowers, please consider becoming an organ donor and/or making a contribution to Donate Life America. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
