Common Inquiries
Can we do a memorial service at a funeral home?
Yes. Through Scott’s Family Services, we can host a memorial service for your loved one at one of our convenient locations. If you do not wish to host a service at a funeral home, we also encourage families to host a celebration of life on their own terms and in a setting meaningful to their family.
How long does it take to receive your loved one’s ashes?
In Indiana, it typically takes 7-10 days. There is a standard 48-hour waiting period, and we must also have a Doctor’s or Coroner’s signature to proceed with cremation.
In Kentucky, it typically takes 5-7 days. The Coroner must sign the provisions cremation permit, typically within 24-48 hours.

What’s the process once we complete the order?
Once arrangements are made, a Magnolia Care Team member will be sent to collect your loved one. Our removal services are provided 24 hours a day, depending on your needs.
With our in-house removal process, you can rest assured your loved one remains in our care throughout the entire process. The moment we take them into our care, your loved one is given an ID Tag with a barcode that remains with them throughout the entire process.
Once your loved one's ashes are ready to be returned, you can pick them up at our office or have them delivered by mail. We will send them to your home via USPS with tracking and signature requirements.
When will we receive the death certificates?
In Indiana, you will receive the certificate typically in 5-7 days.
In Kentucky, you will receive the certificate typically in 2-6 weeks.
In both cases, you can pick up the certificate from the Magnolia office or receive it by mail.
