TESTIMONIALS
Stories You Can Trust, From Families Like Yours.
Choosing cremation is a big decision. Hearing from families we’ve served can bring comfort and confidence. Here’s what they had to say.
What do I do when someone dies?
Call us first at (502) 653-5834 in Kentucky or (812) 913-0044 in Indiana. We answer 24/7. A licensed funeral director will walk you through what to do next, coordinate the transfer of your loved one into our care, and handle the paperwork from there. You do not have to figure this out alone.
How quickly can you come pick up my loved one?
We dispatch as soon as you call. Typical response times vary by location, but a licensed funeral director will give you a specific window during the first call. If your loved one is at a hospital or hospice, we coordinate directly with the staff. You do not need to do anything except call or plan online.
How much does an immediate cremation cost?
Direct cremation at Magnolia starts at $995 in Indiana and Kentucky. The price is the same whether you call us at the time of need or planned ahead. There are no hidden fees, no transfer charges within 50 miles, and no required upsells. Additional services and merchandise are optional.
What's included in immediate cremation?
The $995 base price covers transfer of your loved one into our care within 50 miles, the cremation itself at our private crematory, the required alternative container, filing of the death certificate, and notification of Social Security. Veterans benefits assistance and obituary help are included at no additional cost.
Do I need to come to your office to make arrangements?
No. You can complete arrangements entirely online, over the phone with a Family Care Advisor, or in person at our Jeffersonville or Louisville office. Most families at the time of need choose phone or online. Whatever feels right is right. We meet you where you are.
How long until I get my loved one's ashes back?
In Kentucky, families typically receive ashes within 5 to 10 days. In Indiana, the timeline is usually 7 to 10 days because state law requires a 48-hour waiting period and a physician or coroner signature before cremation can proceed. We will keep you updated at every step.
What if my loved one passed away at home, in hospice, or at a hospital?
We handle transfers from any setting in Indiana or Kentucky, including private homes, hospice facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, and the coroner's office. Each location has its own process, but the next step is the same: call us, and we coordinate everything with the staff or family on site.
Can I still have a service or memorial after a direct cremation?
Yes. Direct cremation means there is no formal service before the cremation, but families often hold a memorial, celebration of life, or graveside service afterward. You choose the timing, location, and format. Many families find that waiting a few weeks gives loved ones time to travel and grieve.
