James Nicolas

February, 14, 1950 - January, 18, 2021

James "Jimmy" B. Nicolas
70, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, January 18, 2021.
He spent most of his life serving in the field of maintenance for both Georgetown Manor Nursing Home and most recently for Walmart.
He was a longstanding member of Landmark Independent Baptist Church and was a strong believer in Christ. He showed his faith in many ways and regularly wore his blue baseball hat with his favorite logo:  FBI Firm Believer In JESUS.
His faith was his strength and he was known for having a genuine servant's heart by always putting others first.  He and his wife Carolyn anticipated their recent retirement with high hopes to serve the Lord together in a ministry for the homeless.
During the short time he was given to enjoy his long awaited retirement, Jimmy kept himself busy with one of his favorite hobbies.  He always enjoyed working with his hands and was blessed with a creative talent.  Combine that gift with his love for people, and we understand why everyone who knew him would be blessed to receive one of his creations.
Another favorite pastime he enjoyed throughout his life was fishing and camping.  The best part of that for him was sharing time fishing with his beloved wife, family and friends. Spending time together at the campsite quickly became a valued tradition and was the highlight of the season each year.
He leaves us with a phrase that he will forever be lovingly identified with. His greeting to all who knew him was:
"What's up wid it".
He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Forsting, his father James B. Nicolas Sr., his sisters Beverly McClelland and Maureen Curran, his nephew Jeff Buckhead, his niece Angela Baker and his grandson Steven Hesler.
Left to cherish Jimmy's memory is his beloved wife Carolyn Nicolas.
His sisters Aileen Spies (Frank), Patsy Nunn (Cloye), Mary Buckhead (Jim).
His daughters Amy McFarland (Donny), Angela Banta (Bobby), Tracy Cundiff (Beavin) and Melissa Hesler.
His sons Nick Brown, William Davis and  Mark Davis (Kitty).
He has 26 "grand-babies" as he called them and 15 great grand-babies.

Jimmy's Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at:
