Mildred Jane Snelling

November, 29, 1935 - December, 14, 2021

Mildred “Jane” Snelling, 86, of Jeffersonville, IN, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021. She was with family and holding the hand of her beloved husband of 67 years when she passed from this world. 

She is preceded in death by her father William Reynolds; mother Rose Reynolds; sisters, Norma Littrell and Joyce Mull; and brothers, Jimmy and Clyde Reynolds. 

Affectionately known as “Janie” by her friends and as “Ma” by her three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, she is survived by her husband, William Snelling; daughter, Allison Bell; son, Bryan Snelling; sister, Carolyn Ray; and grandsons, Shane and Aaron Snelling and Charles Bell. 

She was a caring friend, mother, and grandmother who had a passion for quilting, often giving personalized quilts to family and friends. Patrons of the Steamboat Days festival may remember her joyfully selling her beautiful quilts there for over 20 years. Jane also loved hosting a houseful of family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and she especially enjoyed the company of the children in her family. Her grandchildren will always remember her as the loving embodiment of warmth during overnight stays and holidays; and as a good cook, feeding them and countless of their friends irresistible home cooked meals as everyone was always welcome in her home. 

Cremation was chosen and Magnolia Cremations of New Albany, IN has been entrusted with the arrangements.
