John William Gray Jr.
October, 02, 1944 - April, 10, 2022
John William Gray Jr., 77, of Turnerstation, Kentucky, gained his wings on April 11, 2022. He died suddenly after a five-day battle with cancer and passed comfortably at home with the help of Hospice.
John was born to Ella and John William Gray Sr. on October 2, 1944. He was raised with 10 siblings and is survived by his sister Carolyn Ridenor and Paul Gray, both of Shelbyville, Ky.
John was a farmer by trade. He dedicated twenty years of his life to the Hannah farm in Oldham County. Although John favored raising dairy cows; for twenty years he also raised tobacco and soy beans.
John had no biological children of his own, but his influence helped raise and nurture so many nieces and nephews. Depending on your decade and your timeline with John, you may have known him as; Tub, Tubby, Bub, or Bubby. Those are just a few of the many names that his babies had given him over the years. He loved them all but always seemed to have his favorites and what an honor it was to be his favorite.
John spent the last seven years of his life helping raise the four children of his niece Amanda Wilmouth (Willam Maynes Jr); William Tyler Maynes, Amber Taylor Maynes, Anthony Scott Bates and his baby girl Audrey Taylor Wilmouth. He has been a dedicated pillar in this family and will be greatly missed.
Cremation has been chosen and no public services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
