Janet Lira

October, 04, 1957 - May, 03, 2022

Cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Janet “Jan” Lira, left this world for her heavenly home on May 3, 2022. Her courage and faith during her long battle against breast cancer inspired many. As a self proclaimed “people person”, regardless of how she felt, she always had a smile and an encouraging word for others. Her life was lived in service to God and to the people around her. She is survived by her husband, Daniel, daughters Emily (Adam) and Mary (Travis), grandson Wyatt, sister Kay (Wayne), and numerous other family members and friends.

Jan was born on October 4, 1957 to Travis and Mary Siler of Memphis, TN where she began a lifelong career of dazzling all with whom she came into contact. She later moved to Louisville, KY where she raised her two daughters, Emily and Mary. It was here that she found her church home, Westport Road Church of Christ, her true love, Daniel, and her calling as a women’s ministry leader. 

Jan was a fashionista, style icon, and makeup artist. She had impeccable taste and was generous with her knowledge and understanding of the aesthetic. But, even as she shined like a diamond on the outside, she was more radiant within- always finding the beauty in everyone and everything. The loss to those who love her is immeasurable. We find comfort knowing her pain is gone and she is at rest with her Almighty Father.
