Virginia May Hampton

Virginia May Hampton, 75, of Birdseye, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home on January 29, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Margaret Denkler; spouse, PSG Cortez J. "Bud" Hampton; daughter, Amanda "Mandy" S. Gresham; son, Charles "Charlie" W. Hampton; son-in-law, Joseph "Joe" Gresham; brother, Gerald "Butch" Denkler; sisters, Sarah L. Schroeder, Jerry Ellen Haynes, Georgia Coles, Pamela S. Boswell; and great granddaughter, Jaylyn Gresham.
She is survived by her daughters, Wendy K. Fouts of Colorado Springs, CO, Melissa L. Baird, Joyce M. Jarvis, and Beth A. Baugh; son, Billie J. Baird Jr.; brother, Robert "Bobby" W. Taylor; sister, Betty R. (Jerry Sr.) Kopp; all of New Albany, IN; life partner, Thomas "Tom" Robertson, of Birdseye, IN; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grand children; and many nieces and nephews.
Jenny loved spending her time bowling, dancing, rescuing animals, especially cats and chihuahuas, boating and fishing, playing euchre, singing karaoke, gardening, cooking for and spoiling all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jenny was a member of the VFW Post #1963 Women's Auxilary, Bonnie Sloan Post #28 American Legion, a waitress and bartender for FOP lodge in New Albany, IN, and multiple bowling leagues in Indiana and Arizona. She served ten years as a dedicated Elementary School Nurse in Washington and Saguaro School districts in Phoenix, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Norton Cancer Institute in honor of Virginia Hampton or Amanda Gresham.
