Donna Fay Murphy

Donna Fay Murphy, 79, beloved by all who knew her, passed away at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY on September 23, 2023. Born in Detroit, MI on September 13, 1944, Donna’s life was full of love and adventures.

Donna is survived by her son Karl (Kirschner), daughter Karla (Wolfe), and her beloved Granddaughter Morgan (Wolfe). 

Donna retired from her career at the Army Corps of Engineers, but continued to work for the KY Expo Center, because as she said ‘use it or lose it’. She also worked the summer of ‘22 for the Mackinac Bridge Authority, in Mackinaw City MI, which she loved. 

Donna was a lover of nature…of the lake, the ocean, the birds, the trees. She loved to garden, work the crossword every day (in ink!), read, and to travel. She loved the time she lived in the Panama Canal Zone, and volunteered at the end of Desert Storm resided in Baghdad for almost 2 months. She had her dream log cabin planned and built in 2010 on a plot of land in Northern MI that her parents bought back in the 60’s, and loved to spend time there, especially with family and friends. She was strong in her faith and one of the kindest and spunkiest people you would ever meet. May her memory live on in all who knew her.
