Gordon McCallum Ritchie

Gordon McCallum Ritchie, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 21, 2024. Born on September 17, 1945, to William Ritchie and Minnie McCallum, Gordon was a cherished husband, brother, stepfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather who touched many lives with his kindness and strength.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Bonnie Sawyer Henley Ritchie. His unwavering devotion to Bonnie was evident to all who knew them. He also leaves behind his beloved brother, Robert C. Ritchie, who was his lifelong confidant and friend.
Gordon's legacy includes his stepchildren, Penny Henley, Pamela (Richard) Olsen, and Kurt (Jamie) Henley, who he loved as his own. He was a proud and doting grandfather to Megan Olsen, Abigail Olsen, Dylan Henley, Kaitlyn Henley, Serenity Alvey, Reece Johnson, Makenna Perkins, and Talon Perkins, as well as a great-grandfather to Emory Jo Henley, who brought an extra sparkle to his eyes.
A lifetime member of the West Point United Methodist Church, Gordon's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was known for his warm smile and generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, William Coleman Ritchie and Minnie McCallum Ritchie; his brother, Charles William Ritchie; his sisters-in- law, Louise Ritchie and Iva Ritchie; and his grandson, Devon Henley.
Gordon was also a proud veteran who served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication were recognized with the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service, a testament to his unwavering courage and commitment.
Gordon's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends, who will miss his gentle presence and the love he shared so freely. His life was a testament to service, faith, and family, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Cremation was chosen and Magnolia Cremations of Jeffersonville, Indiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Gordon was a friend who I will miss. He was always ready to talk, if he wasn’t farming. He was a dedicated man to what ever he was doing.
I’m greatfull I know he is with God. I will continue to pray for Bonnie for her loss
