Henry Mandro, a devoted husband and father, accomplished professional, and beloved friend, passed away of natural causes from heart failure and Alzheimer’s on June 2, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on July 14, 1935, Henry's life was a testament to dedication, talent, and a passion for making a difference.
Henry's early years were marked by his exceptional talent as a star pitcher at Central High School and later at Temple University. His skill on the baseball field earned him accolades and formed the foundation for many cherished memories and friendships.
Henry pursued his academic goals with equal vigor, earning a BS in Education from Temple University and a Master of Science in Public Health Administration from the University of Missouri.

In the early 1980s, Henry moved to Louisville, KY, to join a pioneering team that created the insurance division of Humana. His visionary thinking and leadership played a crucial role in the company's success and growth.

Michelle, this is such a lovely tribute. And what a great photo of Hank! I wanted to wait til you were back in Louisville to send our Mass card. He was one of a kind and did indeed affect many of our lives. At work it was humor one minute and in the next minute, lazer focus on the business at hand. Although we could only communicate by phone these last so many years – it was never possible to have shorter than an hour conversation. He was a great friend. He will be missed.
