James Lee Petty

James Lee Petty, 70, of Corydon, Indiana passed away on January 14, 2024.

James is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Betty Jo Petty (Jones); their daughter Devon Ellen (Mark) Peterson; and two granddaughters, Bristol JoLynn Peterson and River Marie Peterson. He is also remembered fondly by his four brothers.

A man of unwavering faith, James dedicated his time to his local United Methodist church, where he served as the head of trustees and ran the soundboard for services. 

Passionate about electronics, James pursued his love for the subject academically, earning an Associates Degree in Electronics at ITT in Evansville, IN. He furthered his education with courses at Chaminade University of Honolulu, showcasing his thirst for knowledge.

James proudly served his country as a US Army Specialist 5 from 1975 to 1979, demonstrating his commitment to duty and honor. Following his military service, he embarked on a remarkable career with Philips Medical Systems, where he dedicated 31 years as a Service Engineer. 

Beyond his professional accomplishments, James found joy in family vacations, theater productions, and the companionship of pets. His warm smile, caring nature, and willingness to lend a helping hand will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
