John Collis

John Richard Collis Jr., age 75, was born November 25, 1948 in New York, NY and passed away on June 10, 2024 in Louisville, KY

John is survived by his wife Marilyn Joy Wells-Collis of 25 years, his former wife, Beverly Collis, his daughter Connie Torres (Jose), son Richard Collis (Diana Edwards), 2 grandsons: Alex and Christopher Torres, 3 great grandsons: August, Grey, and Huxley Torres, his siblings: Billy Collis and Kathy Burcia of New York, and Karen Zubanic of New Jersey.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, John R. and Fran Collis, Sr, and his sister Susan Alvino of Long

Island, NY. John honorably served 2 tours in Vietnam with the US Army. He received the Army Commendation Medal for his service. John then worked and retired from the Presbyterian Seminary in Louisville, KY. after 33 years. He became an active member of the American Legion Post 201 in 2008 and served as the commander for 3 years.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
