A proud patriot, John served his country as a U.S. Navy Submarine Machinist Mate aboard the U.S.S. Wahoo (SS-565). He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #328 in New Albany, Indiana, and the American Legion Post #0356 in Marengo, Indiana. His 40-year career as a machinist and then a machinist supervisor at SCHEU KNISS in Louisville, Kentucky, reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. John was also a member of the National Rifle Association.

In his free time, John was an outdoorsman at heart. He found joy in hunting, fishing, gardening, and caring for his beloved log home and yard. His passion for woodworking and leather craftsmanship reflected his attention to detail and love for creating with his hands. John also had a love for travel, enjoying new experiences alongside his family and friends.

John was a 1972 graduate of New Albany High School, where he began the journey that led him to meet Diane, his devoted partner for nearly five decades. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and precious memories.

John will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, hard work, and service will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
