Lillian Dickens

1/17/1929 - 5/31/2024

Lillian G. Dickens passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024 at the age of 95.  “Lilly” (as she was known by her many caretakers) was born January 17, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in Lexington, Kentucky.  She married William C. “Bill” Dickens in April 1951 and during the years that followed they lived in many locations throughout the country as Bill was serving in the United States Air Force, eventually settling in Louisville, Kentucky.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, playing bingo, and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Margaret Gorham, brother James Gorham, son William C. Dickens, Jr. (Annabell), and husband Bill, who passed away in 2013.  She is survived by brothers Gene Gorham and Mike Gorham (Linda), daughter Robyn Wright (Kevin), sons Scott Dickens (Barbara) and Mark Dickens, and nine grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest at Bethany Memorial Cemetery alongside her husband of 62 years.  A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
