Lowell "Marty" Lewis
Jeffersonville, Indiana – Lowell "Marty" Lewis, 72, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Marty is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Jana Lewis; his beloved sons, Adam (Sara), Aaron (Jennifer), and Jonathan (Brandy); and his cherished grandchildren, Austin, Tanner, Grayson, Sydney, and Ainsley. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Jeanne Abell (Steve) and Sharon Hayes (Leon). He was preceded in death by his parents, Presley and Zula Rae Lewis.

Marty proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1999 and continued to work as a Petroleum Inspector. His dedication to service continued through his involvement in numerous veterans’ organizations, including the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and The 40/8 Veterans Organization. His commitment to his fellow servicemen and women was a testament to his generous spirit and unwavering patriotism.

Beyond his service, Marty found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer and a passionate fan of University of Kentucky sports. Whether on the course or cheering for his Wildcats, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm and a warm heart.

As he peacefully passed, Marty found comfort in his faith, knowing he was with the Lord in Heaven. A Graveside Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at a later date in the Nashville, Tennessee area.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local veterans’ organization in Marty’s honor, ensuring that his legacy of service continues to help those in need.

I will truly miss Marty and our almost daily conversations, when the weather was nice. He loved talking about CAL football and how Bella was doing. I still think about the July 4th that B sat in his lap watching fireworks and him helping me put her wagon together when I was having trouble. He will definitely be missed by the neighbors. Prayers for you and the family. Please let us know if you need anything!

So sad to hear this. Marty and I shared such good times as teenagers. Prayers for all.

Marty and I met at our local American Legion. We shared our life in the Military and our love for animals. I am sure Jana can tell some cute stories of our dog sitting adventures. I know I will miss him.
