I knew Marlene and her sister Darlene as young teenagers. Marlene always had a beautiful smile And eyes that were sweet and smoky. Always honest never doubted what she said ever. She was faithful, loving and immediate person you wanted to hang out with back in the good ole 1970. Marlene,Darlene,Rufus,Ronnie, Regina,Tammy, Pat and myself were almost inseparable, we did everything together almost every evening just being ourselves and having fun, good clean fun. We all enjoyed each other. Marlene and Rufus only had eyes for each other and it never stopped then Darlene and Ronnie. So young we all were, listening to Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones and Lynyrd Skynyrd,Joe Cocker,Bam Morrison. We had some music! I want to say I love you my friend Marlene, I will miss you as my kindred spirit and so will Regina. We cannot wait to join you to experience the peace and happiness you now have in a different realm. You were definitely too young to go but the lord needed you and knew you would have a very hard time loosing Rufus so you went first . You will always be my friend and in my mind you will always be 16

I have so many special memories of many years with Marlene! We spent a lot of time together when the brothers were hanging out on our trips from Ohio to Kentucky. I will forever hold you in my heart! You will always be missed! I love you, Marlene! Love, Wanda

Aunt Marlene had the sweetest, softest voice. I remember when I was little how much I loved hearing her speak. I told her this many times over the years. How much I loved her voice, her mannerisms, just her. In the summer of 2014 her and I got into making bracelets and necklaces from colorful rubber bands. She even gave me my own little kit for it lol. I still have it. We spoke on the phone only a few days before she took sick. She told me I deserved to be happy. I will never forget that. I love you, Marlene. Tell Mom I said Hi and that I love her 💔⚘
