Summer after 8th grade Mike came over to help build a fence and didn’t leave for month. I always felt we were alone in our families looking for a brother. He eventually moved further and further away from Louisville. We kept in touch but didn’t hang out for around 15 years. One time his dad( Pot belly as Mike called him or Pops) took us fishing on the river. The water was low and we camped on the exposed beach. It was miserable! Nothing was biting and he was getting so mad. He got a bite and fell trying to get to the pole. After he seen it was gone he cussed and threw the pole in the river. In the morning his dad was like wtf ? He said the fish ripped it out of his hands! Up all night and in the small boat in the sun the next day we could take it and left. It’s literally 1 of 3 times I’ve ever been fishing. About half of my wild and crazy and unbelievable stories were experienced with Mike. Forever my friend! My heart is filled with sorrow for the family and kids.

I knew Mike for a long time with some good memories. He was always a funny guy and always willing to come help when someone was stuck or in trouble. He had a good heart and will be missed! I’m deeply saddened to hear this about Mike! RIP FRIEND!

Mike or monk as we both called each other was one of the truest friends someone could have . He wasn’t just a friend but what I considered a brother he was always there when I needed him the most and am gonna dearly miss him and will not let him go unremembered .

Mike and I were together for 5 years and we had stayed close for the years preceding those 5 years… We had many great memories together. Mikey was included in a lot of them!!! He loved his kiddos. No matter what… I’ve never been in love with a man so much. I’ll love him until the day I die… No one, except the people closest to him really knew, but his heart was huge!!! Fly high Mike!!! Much love, forever 💜😘

I love you my friend. You are so very special in my heart. I will miss you everyday! I will always smile when I think back to that black ford truck and your contagious smile. We’ve always seemed to find our way back into each other’s lives. We will see each other again my love.
