Mildred Walker

01/21/1950 - 12/16/2023

Mildred Walker, a compassionate soul who dedicated her life to caring for others, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2023.

Mildred is survived by her beloved daughter, Ann Mayfield, and son-in-law, Terry Mayfield. Her grandchildren, Brittany Milliner (Jason), Mandy Sanders, Dylan Mayfield, and Madison Mayfield, along with her three great-grandchildren, Lillie, Emma, and Lainey, were the light of her life; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mildred cherished every moment spent with her family.

Born to Edgor and Florence Higdon, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her loving husband, Glenn Cook. She joins her brothers, Jessie Higdon and Clarence Higdon, and sister, Frances Skaggs, in eternal rest.

Mildred's life was a testament to her selflessness and dedication. For an astounding 47 years, she served as a dedicated caregiver at Springview Nursing and Rehab. Her commitment to her work family and the residents she cared for was unparalleled. Mildred's passion for taking care of others extended beyond the walls of her workplace; it was a fundamental part of who she was.

A lover of cats, Mildred found solace and companionship in caring for her feline friends. Yet, her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her grandchildren, watching them grow and creating cherished memories together.

Mildred's legacy will be forever etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She exemplified a life lived with purpose, kindness, and a genuine concern for the well-being of others.
