Raymond L. “Les” Wolf, Jr.
1/9/1945- 3/9/2025
Raymond L. “Les” Wolf, Jr. of Louisville passed away peacefully in his 81st year on March 9th. Les was a native Louisvillian that lived most of his adult life in and around Pleasure Ridge Park. He graduated from Butler High School and attended Western Kentucky University before enlisting in the Army National Guard. Following his military service, Les began a 40+ year career at Ford Motor Company, where he retired as a test driver.
Les was a lifetime fan of sports and in his youth played baseball, softball, football, and competed in track and field. He was a fan of UofL football and basketball and was the biggest fan of the Cincinnati Reds.
Les will be remembered for so many things including his generosity, optimism, pipe smoking, sense of humor, and his calm demeanor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Wolf, Sr. and Muriel G. Wolf. He is survived by his 4 daughters with Susan Wolf: Tiffany Seiler (Glen) of Palm Harbor, FL, Terry Wolf Dupree of Henryville, IN, Jenny Wolf (Amy) of Louisville, KY, and Kate Morton (Sam) of Prospect, KY. He is also survived, and will be remembered as the loving and adoring ‘Papaw,’ to his 9 grandchildren and one great-grandson, all of whom he loved and cared for dearly.
Les’s family has chosen to celebrate his life in a private service with an internment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
A bit of sage baseball wisdom that Les/Papaw would occasionally share with those in challenging times was “, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains.”
To have known him was a win….
