Robert McGill

October 13, 1947 ~ March 24, 2023

Robert McGill, 75, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on March 24, 2023.

He was born in Jefferson County, KY, on October 12, 1947, the son of the late John and Doris  McGill. He formerly worked for Anderson Wood Products for many years in Louisville as a carpenter and spent the last few years of his life being a wonderful caretaker of his wife Angela. 

Robert enjoyed watching horseracing, baseball, tennis and was an avid Louisville Cardinal fan. Along with spending time with his beloved family, he enjoyed small talk with friends and meeting new people, especially over a cup of black coffee, two sugars. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Leland; and two brothers, Bud and James. 

Left to cherish his memory is his beautiful wife, Angela McGill of 44 years; sons, Patrick (Denise) Walls of Louisville and Robert L McGill Jr of New Albany; eight grandkids Patrece, Kobe, Karsen, Ciera, Kynadee, Rodrick , Josiah, and Keondre; one great grandson, Paxton; nephew Daryl McGill of Louisville, KY; sisters, Adelle Powell-Ballard, Anna Powell-Scrivener and Sandra Powell of Paducah, KY; and a host of cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held on April 23, 2023 at Bethel AME church at 201 West Charlestown Avenue, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130 at 2:00. The family is requesting that attendees wear their Louisville Cardinal gear or black/red in memory of Robert.

The family of Mr. McGill would like to say a special thanks to the staff at Lincoln Hills nursing and Rehab in New Albany and Baptist Health Floyd for being attentive to his needs and providing great care during his stay. You all are true epitome of Health Care Heroes and your work doesn’t go unnoticed!
