Stephen John Smith

Born in Cambridge and educated at Warwick University, Stephen John Smith left his
home in England to find love in the United States. He found it twice, first with Teresa
Renee Smith and, after her death, Theresa Ann Miller-Smith. In addition to poems and articles published under his own name, he published three science fiction romance novels and several short stories under the pen name S.J. Willing. More recently he focused on woodworking and crafting intricate paper flowers, with which he delighted fellow patients of the Clark Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Clarksville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Hedges Smith, and both wives. He is survived by his many friends, who cherish the memory of his kindness, his gentleness, and his perseverance in the face of too many insurmountable difficulties.
