Mina Monica Menezes

September, 01, 1941 - January, 18, 2022

On January 18th, 2022, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mina Monica Menezes went home to be with her beloved Lord & Savior Jesus.

Mamma had many accomplishments, she loved many and was loved by many, she retired from Norton’s Hospital at the age of 75, after 27 years of service as a PTA.  Her legacy of kindness, warmth, love, and wisdom will ripple for generations to come.  She will be missed, but emulating her example of living life simply, devoted to the service of others is the best way to celebrate her well lived life. Having come to the United States as a first-generation immigrant in 1988, and having suffered a childhood of poverty and uncertainty, she arose like a Phoenix out of the ashes, worked hard and beat the odds of starting life in a new country at the age of 47.

Mama loved her Lord and passed on this love and grace with which she was saved by to all she met.  On January 18th, she met the one her soul loved most of all – her Jesus, she leaves behind her legacy of Faith, Love and Hope to the one true love of her earthly life, her husband Herman of 55 years, her 3 children Savio, (Manjiri) Menezes, Michelle, (Timothy) Foree/Menezes, and Zelia,(Jeffrey) Bailey, her 2 grandchildren Shirin, (Andrea) Menezes, Forrest (Margaret) Haycraft/Bailey, her 2 great-grandchildren, Maverick & Barron.

As we always said, “Love you Mamma, always and forever.” We will meet again; we will see you soon.

“I’ll meet you in the morning by the bright Riverside when all sorrow has drifted away.

I’ll be standing at the portals when the gates open wide at the end of life’s long weary day….

You will know me in the morning by the smile that I wear, when I meet you in the morning in the city that is built four square”

Mama was an active member of Christ Community Church, all expressions of love and remembrance, in lieu of flowers can be made to Christ Community Church, 2917 Cleveland Blvd Louisville, KY 40206.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Mammas home going at a later day.

I treasure Mina and remembering how she listened and responded directly. I met her as my physical therapist when my 4th finger of the heart… Apollo on my left hand had been broken. Her magical mysterious guided by her faith intellect and attention… Just kept showing up, bringing a sweetness and smile as well as an understanding of her own heart as a part of loving mystery with all she served guided by her faith in Jesus …I delighted in her.She showed up again and again.A shining human being and soul.
