David Robert Perkins
September, 29, 1985 - May, 09, 2022
Dr. David Robert Perkins loving son and brother, 36, passed away early morning on May 9th, 2022 in New Albany, Indiana. He was born in Dallas, Texas on September 29th, 1985. He was raised in Rockwall, Texas with his loving family. David succeeded in completing a B.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas and continued his education to earn a Medical Degree (Cum Laude) at St. George’s University. After that, he went on to complete his residency in family medicine from DeTar Hospital in Victoria, Texas.
He is survived by his father Stephen Perkins, his mother Laurel Tate, and his two younger brothers Jonathan Perkins, and Mark Perkins.
David was one of the most adventurous, well fashioned, courageous, confident, and genuine people to have ever walked this earth. Anyone who had the fortune of crossing paths with David could instantly feel his sincerity and empathy permeate from his abundant soul. From France to Chile, New York City to Grenada, from Victoria to Dallas, David always had friends and family close by his side who loved and cherished every moment with him.
David was an avid pole vaulter, classical guitarist, avant-garde painter, surfer, skater, down-to-earth Doctor, philosopher, scientist, and unconditional philanthropist. The list goes on. Anything David put his mind to he became a master of. He shared these passions with friends, family, and even strangers he had just met.
He cherished spending time with all people, from all walks of life. His loving disposition created a sense of safety for everyone around him to be nothing but themselves.
It is with a heavy heart that we move forward carrying on with his spirit. He will always be remembered, loved, and adored by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but will never be forgotten.
As one of David’s favorite philosophers, Friedrich Nietzsche said, “On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain: either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow.”
Cremation was chosen and Magnolia Cremations of New Albany, Indiana, has been entrusted with the arrangements. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
