Barbara Swiggum Shallcross, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday May 26, 2022 in New Albany, Indiana.

She was born January 20, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Albert and Clara Hodel.

Barbara graduated from Durrett High School.

She retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education.

Throughout her life Barbara was a sports enthusiast. She loved to watch the Louisville Cardinals. She also enjoyed her flower garden.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband Warren Shallcross, her daughters, Becky (Jim) Hunt, Nikki (Shane) DeWitt, stepchildren Jason Shallcross, Shawn Shallcross, and Audrey Sanabria. Sisters Christine (Donnie) Rodgers, Sandra (Bruce) Rodgers, Lynda (Tim) Taylor Grandchildren: Jessica (Michael) Moldenhauer, Bethany McDonald, James Hunt Jr, Hailey & Autumn DeWitt, Karina Sanabria, Jackson, Caleb, Hunter Shallcross, Margo Shallcross, Connor Shallcross, Great Grandchildren: Kylie Bell McDonald, Arthur & Emmaline Moldenhauer. Niece: Casey (Juan) Perez, Scott (Rebecca) Skees, Chris (Kyla) Taylor.

At Barbara’s request there will not be any funeral services.
