Bruce Alan Leidolf

Bruce Alan Leidolf, 62, of Georgetown, IN passed away on Wednesday June 15, 2022.

 Bruce was born on December 8, 1959 in Floyds Knobs, IN to the late Arthur and Joann (Fertig) Leidolf. He is also preceded in death by his sister Anita (Danny) Kays. Bruce has been a devoted husband of Peggy (Orendorff) Leidolf for 40 years, and a loving father to Ashley Leidolf (Alan Wood) and Bradley Leidolf. He will be missed by his siblings Mark (Carol) Leidolf, Sheryl (Tony) Staser, Arthur “Jim” II (Holly) Leidolf, and Jo Lynn Gosnell. Bruce also had many dear friends that were like family to him.

 Bruce enjoyed a wonderful, adventure-filled childhood on his family’s farms in Floyds Knobs, IN. He was a 1978 graduate of Floyd Central High School. He also achieved an Associate Degree (High Distinction) in Mechanical Engineering Technology, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University. Bruce highly valued education and was a firm believer in life-long learning.

 Bruce took great pride in a job well done and had a long career in the defense industry. He was a federal employee at Naval Ordnance for 18 years, and spent another 24 years in defense before retiring from BAE Systems in 2020. 

 Bruce was a devoted, caring, loving husband and father that always put others’ needs ahead of his own. He cherished the simple pleasures in life and was enthusiastic about his many hobbies and interests. Bruce loved bowling, golfing, riding his Harley, hiking in nature with his dog, bicycling, woodworking, home improvement projects, reading, and traveling. Bruce traveled all over the US and also visited Europe and South America.

 Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life and a Mass in memory of Bruce. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

 Bruce was very passionate about charitable giving and donated to many different causes throughout his life. If you would like to honor Bruce, the family requests that donations be made in his name to The Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
