Alan Lee Standifer, 47, of Louisville, Kentucky, was born on December 27, 1978, and passed away on May 20, 2026, at Baptist East Hospital, surrounded by a compassionate and caring medical team.

Alan was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. He was known for his tough exterior, sharp wit, and fiercely loyal heart. Throughout his life, Alan faced many challenges, including a long struggle with mental illness. Despite the obstacles he encountered, his love for his family never wavered.

A gifted artist, Alan found purpose and joy through creative expression. He was an accomplished tattoo artist and talented illustrator whose work reflected his passion and individuality. Art provided him with a way to connect with others and express what words often could not. Among the tattoos he treasured most were those honoring his daughter and grandchildren, whom he loved deeply. Whether through drawing, tattooing, music, or storytelling, Alan left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

During his incarceration, Alan demonstrated determination and personal growth by earning his GED and completing certifications in several skilled trades, including carpentry. His accomplishments reflected his resilience and desire to continue learning despite life's difficulties.

Those closest to Alan understood that beneath his hardened exterior was a man of remarkable compassion and devotion. He was a natural storyteller and a steadfast protector of the people he loved. If someone he cared about found themselves in trouble, Alan would often accept the blame himself to shield them from consequences. He affectionately referred to his brother Michael as "Bub," his sisters as "Sis," and his daughter simply as "Baby Girl"—terms of endearment that reflected the closeness he felt toward them.

Alan's compassion extended beyond his family. He never hesitated to help someone in need, whether offering assistance to a hungry stranger or lending support to a friend facing hardship. Though he made mistakes along the way, he never lost his capacity for kindness, empathy, and unconditional love.

A devoted mama's boy, Alan often spoke of his mother as his greatest hero, admiring the strength she showed throughout her life. That admiration remained with him until his final days. He frequently expressed pride in his daughter, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family, often describing them as his inspiration and motivation.

Alan is survived by his daughter, Jordan Witt; his sisters, Casey Hughes (Justin Hughes), Kimberly Standifer, and Crissy Standifer; his grandchildren, Kyler and Bella Rose; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Standifer; his mother, Ona "Ree Ree" Standifer; and his brother, Michael Standifer.

In accordance with Alan's wishes, cremation has been chosen. Magnolia Cremations of Louisville, Kentucky, has been entrusted with his care.

A private Celebration of Life honoring Alan's wishes will be held on July 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at 1800 Portland Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40203. At 11:00 p.m., family and friends will gather for a candlelight vigil and balloon release in front of Alan's childhood home on Lytle Street, just off Portland Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alan's memory to organizations supporting HIV/AIDS awareness, mental health advocacy, and childhood abuse prevention.

Though Alan's path was not always easy, he will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, generous spirit, artistic talent, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on through the stories he shared, the artwork he created, the lives he touched, and the loved ones he held so close to his heart.
