Amelia "Mae" Watson

Amelia “Mae” Watson, age 67, of Hanover, Indiana, was born on July 8, 1958, and passed away on April 23, 2026.
Mae graduated from Southwestern High School in 1976. She lived in Chicago, Illinois, for a brief period to attend art school and pursue her creative passions.
Mae was known as a caring and passionate individual. She was especially talented at creating dolls and angel figurines out of clay. Her creativity extended to writing as well; she authored a book titled “Tasha, The Littlest Hummingbird.”
Mae dedicated more than thirty years of her life as an independent healthcare aide, and working at Madison State Hospital. She provided compassionate care to individuals with special needs throughout her career.
Mae was preceded in death by her loving father, Leon D. Watson; her paternal grandparents, Thomas Watson, Samuel Duncan, and Mary Frances Todd Watson and her maternal grandparents, John David Cosby and Freda Loretta Johnson Cosby, several uncles: Elmer Cosby, Donald Cosby, Herbert Cosby and several aunts: Virginia Watson, Janelle Duncan, and Katherine Watson.
Mae will be missed by her loving mother, Davidteen Cosby Watson; her cherished dog, Nola Marie; three sisters: Phyllis Mobley (Michael) of Chanhassen, MN, Janice Watson Wise of Lexington, IN, Glenda Watson of Louisville, KY; and her brother: Leon Watson, Jr. of St. Paul, MN. Other survivors include her aunt: Wanda Cosby Lacy; Uncles: Carlton Cosby and David Cosby, all of Hanover, IN; and Clarence Cosby of Frederick, MD, Nieces and Nephews include: Marquis Howard, Louisville, KY, Ray Howard, Louisville, KY, Ty Watson, Tipton, GA, Bryton Wise, Lexington, IN, Amanda Watson, Minneapolis, MN, Daniel Watson, Hudson, MN, Charissa Mobley, Minnetonka, MN, and Adrienne Mobley, Woodbury, MN; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends and neighbors whom she dearly love.
