Anthony Ray Oglesby lived a life rich in music, faith, and passion. Music was at the very heart of who he was. A gifted and talented musician, Anthony shared his abilities generously with others throughout his life.

From an early age, Anthony gave his life to Christ, and his gift for music became evident. He began playing for his home church, St. James United Methodist Church, where his passion for music blossomed. His voice and skill on the piano and organ were unmatched, and he became a fixture in the local music community.

Anthony graduated from Charlestown High School in 1976. He studied at Bowling Green State University for Health Care Administration from August 1976 to May 1981. He also attended Jefferson Community College of Louisville, Kentucky, where he graduated from the School of Culinary Arts.

In addition to his work with St. James, Anthony was the founder and director of the Voices of Inspiration Choir, a group that touched many lives through its beautiful harmonies and heartfelt performances. Anthony’s leadership, dedication, and love for music inspired countless individuals, and his legacy in the music community will never be forgotten.

Outside of music, Anthony had another deep passion—travel and food. His culinary creations were as vibrant and full of life as his music. A true connoisseur of delicious cooking, he found joy in preparing meals and bringing people together through fellowship, laughter, and love.

In his later years, Anthony continued serving Christ through music as a musician for Wesley United Methodist Church, remaining faithful to his calling and love for worship.

Anthony is survived by his loving sister, Christle M. Oglesby; brother, Jamie Hutchinson; beloved nephew, Davonte Leavell; and beloved nieces, Destiny Oglesby, Briana Hutchinson, and Jordan Hutchinson. Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Juanita Oglesby; his father, Henry L. Wright; his brothers, Shamar and ShaQuan Oglesby; and 15 aunts and uncles whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service to honor the life and legacy of Anthony Ray Oglesby will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1201 Thomas V. Bryant Dr., Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130, on January 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Anthony’s legacy will live on through his music, the people he inspired, and the love he shared. Though he has taken his rest, his songs will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
