Barbara Ann Fiorillo
2/3/1951 - 12/11/2025
Barbara Ann Fiorillo passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at her home in Carmel,
IN after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in 1951 to Jacob and Maxine
Schaffer in Indianapolis, IN and graduated from Ben Davis High School. She moved to
Illinois in 1978, where she met her husband, Tony Fiorillo. They were wed in 1990 after
working together for 12 years. They lived in Denver for 3 years before returning to
Indianapolis in 1993.
Barbara was a very proud mother of Jennifer Tran and loved spending time with her.
She was an extraordinarily capable person who was not afraid to tackle anything; she
would just as easily dig into new software or technology as she would dig up a tree
stump in the backyard. She loved spending time gardening and landscaping, especially
with her beloved dogs. She had an insatiable thirst for finding answers and could read
1500 words/minute. If she didn’t know it, she would have her PHD in it in 45 minutes.
She was a strong, positive force that got things done. She enjoyed dinners with friends,
cooking (and eating!), traveling, and spending time in her second home in Scottsdale,
AZ.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, and her husband Tuan; an amazing mother;
brothers, Mark, Robert, and Doug Schaffer; grandchildren, Alexis, Tuan, and Hung; and 2
great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no funeral or visitation. If you were fortunate enough to be
touched by this remarkable woman, please say a prayer on her behalf.
