Barbara Stoess

Barbara Stoess, lovingly known as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away at home on November 20, 2024, surrounded by close family who loved her dearly.

Barbara is survived by her children, Charles Stoess Jr. and Christy Stoess; her cherished grandson, Kendrick Williams, who brought immense joy to her life; her sister, Cheryl McQuilling; her niece, Barbara “Michelle” Ritchey; her nephew, Richard McQuilling; and numerous great-nephews. She is also survived by her loyal feline companion, Anna Nicole “Cutie Pie,” who Barbara humorously claimed would outlive her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Stoess; her parents, Elmer and Anna Pfeiffer; and her nephew, Chad McQuilling.

Barbara spent more than two decades working at Bearno’s Pizza, where she formed lasting connections with her colleagues and community. She shared a deep bond with her husband, Charles, to whom she was married until his passing in 2012.

Barbara loved playing Bingo with her sister, Cheryl, enjoying nightly TV shows (she was practically a Wheel of Fortune expert!), shopping trips with her daughter, and sharing heartfelt moments with her son. Her greatest joy came from being "Grammy" to Kendrick, who lit up her life and inspired her to persevere through her health struggles.

Barbara had a huge heart for animals. She famously retired from cooking after her husband's passing—a humorous nod to her candid and loving personality.

Barbara’s humor, resilience, and love for her family will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

The family has chosen to hold a celebration of life at a later date, to be announced.
