Beverley Kay "BK" Goethe

10/24/1957 - 08/24/2024

Beverley Kay "BK" Goethe (née Daniels), 66, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 24, 1957, in Roanoke, Virginia, Beverley lived a life filled with joy, love, and an unwavering commitment to those around her. She graduated from Northside High School in Warner Robins, Georgia, before earning a bachelor’s degree in special education from the University of Georgia in Athens. Her passion for education led her to a fulfilling career as a special education teacher for 20 years, during which she profoundly impacted the lives of many children with disabilities. Her dedication was recognized in 1998 when she was named Special Education Teacher of the Year in Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Beverley was a devoted Christian and an active member of Bayside Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Her faith guided her throughout her life, and she found purpose in serving others. She volunteered tirelessly to feed the homeless every Thursday night under the overpass and participated in Bible study classes. She ensured that her sons were given the opportunity to learn about their faith and follow a righteous path.

Her family was the center of her world. She is survived by her beloved husband, James D.
Goethe; her sons, Clinton E. Goethe and Logan E. Goethe; and her brother, Kenneth Daniels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary F. Sullivan-Daniels and Thomas M. Daniels. Beverley took great pride in raising her two sons and later doting on her grandsons. She even played a role in guiding her husband toward furthering his education and pursuing a successful career, not for financial gain but so he could become the best man he could be.

Beverley embraced life with an infectious energy that brought joy to everyone around her. She had an uncanny ability to find humor in everyday moments—barking at strangers at stop signs, singing in the rain, or playfully scaring loved ones from behind walls—always ensuring laughter filled the air. She never sought recognition or praise but gave herself selflessly to others without expecting anything in return except love.

Her interests were as vibrant as her personality. She found happiness playing volleyball on the beach, dancing, painting, reading, crocheting, landscaping, and interior decorating. No matter what she did, she approached it with enthusiasm and creativity.

Those who knew Beverley describe her as one-of-a-kind—unique, special, rare—a person who lit up every room she entered. Her many friends cherished her loyalty and devotion and wholeheartedly agreed that they broke the mold when they made her.

Beverley faced life's challenges with grace and acceptance. Even as dementia gradually took its toll, she never complained but instead looked forward to the day she would enter paradise to sit at the feet of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith remained steadfast until the very end.

A memorial gathering will be held on October 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Saint Thomas Parish, located at 26 East Villa Place, Ft. Thomas, Kentucky 41075. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carmel Manor at 100 Carmel Manor Drive, Ft. Thomas, KY 41075 (www.CarmelManor.com).

Beverley's memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and unwavering spirit. May those who knew and loved her find comfort in the joy she brought into their lives.
