Brenda Sue Wilson

Brenda Sue Wilson, 84, of Campbellsville, KY, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 16, 2026, just days after celebrating her 84th birthday. She was born September 8, 1942, in Taylor County, Kentucky, to Howard and Vernon Hovious, and lived most of her life in Campbellsville, with periods spent in Louisville, KY.

Above all else, Brenda's greatest role in life was that of mother, and later, "Grandma" or "Nana" to her five grandchildren. Family was the center of her world, and those who knew her best say she loved fiercely. She also cherished her large family throughout her life.

Brenda had a deep love for cooking for those she loved. She took pride in decorating her home for every season, and Christmas was her favorite time of year. She brought the same warmth and joy to that season that she brought to everything else in her life. She was an animal lover, and her shih tzus over the years, Kelsey, Tasha, and Makia, were cherished members of her family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Wilson; her parents, Howard and Vernon Hovious; and four of her siblings; Pauline, Geraldine, David, and Daniel. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Dever McIntyre and Michelle Wotherspoon (Adam); her grandchildren, Mackenzie, Raven, Michael, Rylan, and Ava, who called her Grandma and Nana; and three surviving siblings; Lequita, Kathy, and Diane.

In keeping with her wishes, no public service will be held. Brenda will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY, alongside her late husband, Gene.

Brenda hoped to be remembered simply for her joyful, unwavering love of her family, a legacy that lives on in her daughters and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Brenda's memory to the Taylor County Animal Shelter.
