Catherine “Cathy” Bush
05/16/1955-12/31/2025
Catherine “Cathy” Bush, 70, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1955, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to the late Marvin and Betty Joan Nolan.
Cathy was the devoted wife of Ronald Bush, and a loving mother to Aaron Bush and Katie Higdon. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Ronald Collins (Grace Collins), Bo Collins, and Natalie Milburn (Richard Milburn), and a cherished great-grandmother to Winter Milburn, who brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her beloved siblings: Marcia Thompson, Teresa Meilstrup (John Meilstrup), Jon Nolan (Donna Nolan), and Amy ElHindi (Bashar ElHindi). Cathy held her family close to her heart, and her love for them was evident in everything she did.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, John Marvin and Betty Joan Nolan.
A woman of deep faith, Cathy remained active in church for many years, until illness made travel difficult. Her faith, family, and love for worship music were central to her life. She sang, played guitar, and found peace in praise and worship songs.
Cathy found happiness in life’s simple and beautiful moments. The beach and ocean were her happy place, where she felt closest to God and at peace. She loved the outdoors, sunshine, bird watching, and in her final year became an avid butterfly enthusiast. She also enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark movies, and spending time with her beloved cat Wiley and her dog Barney, who preceded her in death.
A gifted artist, Cathy had a natural talent for painting, though she rarely found the time to fully pursue it. She was also a wonderful cook, a nurturing mother, and a creative spirit. In her younger years, she proudly participated in Drum Corps, showcasing her love for music and performance.
Cathy was a high school graduate and devoted many years as a stay-at-home mother while raising her children. Later in life, when her husband became ill, she stepped into the workforce with strength and determination. She became a retail manager at a women’s clothing store, a role she took great pride in. Cathy deeply loved her job and the women she worked with, who became like family to her.
Cathy’s world revolved around her family and her faith. She lived with kindness, grace, and an open heart, and her warmth touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her creativity, her unwavering love, and her devotion to those she held dear.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
