Charles Patrick

Charles Edward Patrick, Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and servant to his community, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. His life was marked by kindness, hard work, and a deep commitment to helping others.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Mary Fay Cadieux Patrick; his children, John Patrick and Kimberly (John) Patrick Williams; his stepdaughters, Jennifer (Paul) Pfeifer and Courtney Lahm; his brothers, Terry (Pam) Patrick and Dennis (Bernie) Patrick; and his sisters Peggy (George) Poirer and Elizabeth (Bill) Kachel. He is also lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and extended family members, including Carol Schuster, Mary Cadieux, Elizabeth Schroeder, Jeanne (David) James, and Kevin (Meg Sperry) Cadieux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Casey Patrick and Charles Edward Patrick, Sr.; his brother, John Patrick; sister-in-law, Ruth Patrick; nephew, Justin Patrick; and brothers-in-law, Thomas Cadieux, Kenneth Schroeder, and Greg Schuster.
Charles lived a life guided by service. He was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Montana and later Thailand. A dedicated volunteer, he gave generously to his community as a member of the volunteer fire department and as a paramedic in Dundee, Illinois. He was also a proud member of the Sellersburg, Indiana, American Legion and a Life Member of the Dundee, Illinois, VFW.
A lifelong learner, Charles attended Elgin Community College, earning associate degrees in business and marketing. He built a successful career as a salesman with Nabisco and Frito-Lay, where he was recognized with numerous awards before his retirement.
In his personal life, Charles found joy in simple, meaningful moments. He loved fishing, woodworking, and creating handmade gifts for those he loved. He spent countless hours tending to landscaping projects, building patios, ponds, and outdoor spaces that brought people together.
Above all, Charles was a man of deep faith. He believed wholeheartedly in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Many a Friday on the golf course and lunch with Chuck. A wonderful friend.
In this life we may accomplish great wealth or fame, but the goal of Chuck was always to be seen as a good man.
Chuck Patrick was a good man, now with The Good Lord.
