Charles Thomas Cash II (“Chuck”)

12/7/1963 - 6/20/2026

Charles Thomas Cash II, known to family and friends as Chuck, passed away after a life filled with adventure, music, faith, and love. Born on December 7, 1963, Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Dianne Gravitt Cash and Charles Thomas Cash.

He is survived by his beloved children, Charles T. Cash III (“Chase”) and Gabriella Rose Cash (“Ellie”), who were the center of his world.

Music was at the heart of Chuck’s life. He performed in several bands over the years, ranging from Christian rock to hair metal and everything in between, always sharing his energy and talent with others.

Chuck had a gift for bringing things to life, whether through teaching, directing, or music. He worked with schools and theater productions throughout his life, using his creativity and technical skill to support countless performances and events.

A lifelong advocate for lacrosse, Chuck founded the lacrosse team at Eastern Kentucky University, coached at Trinity High School, and created Derby City Lacrosse, taking players on unforgettable trips throughout Europe and building opportunities for young athletes to grow and compete.

He also loved riding dirt bikes and motorcycles and never lost his enthusiasm for adventure, music, or the next challenge in front of him.

For the past ten years, Chuck faithfully served as sound engineer for the worship team at Shelby Christian Church in Shelbyville, where he poured his heart into supporting worship and building lasting friendships within the church community.

Above all else, Chuck was a father. Nothing brought him more joy than Chase and Ellie, and his love for them was steady, deep, and unmistakable to everyone who knew him.

The family extends special thanks to Pastor Dave Hamlin, Dion Muncreif, the Shelby Christian Church family, and the staff of Maple Grove Senior Living for their friendship, support, and compassionate care.

Chuck will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, creative mind, generous heart, strong faith, and the many lives he touched through music, teaching, coaching, and friendship.
