Crystal Broughton

07/30/1971 - 05/26/2024

Crystal Michelle Broughton, 52, of Worthville, Kentucky passed away on May 26, 2024. She was born on July 30, 1971 in Madison, Indiana to the late Roy and Agnes Marcum.

Crystal married the love of her life, Steven, in 2011. Their 17 years together were filled with joy, love, and countless cherished memories. As a devoted mamaw and nana, Crystal's grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her heart was as vast as her love for animals. She was an active member of several organizations dedicated to helping animals in need, always going above and beyond to ensure their safety and well-being.

Crystal graduated from Carroll County High School with the Class of 1990. She dedicated 19 years of her life working at Arvin Sango, where she formed lifelong friendships and took great pride in her work.

Her Sundays were spent at church, where her faith and community brought her immense joy. Crystal’s love for country music was a constant in her life, often providing the soundtrack to the cookouts and family reunions she loved to plan. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and the comforting sound of her voice as she chatted on the phone with friends and family.

Crystal leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a reminder of the importance of family and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Steven Broughton; children, Latosha (Eric) Maples of Worthville, KY; step-children, Danielle (Ashley) Broughton of Elizabethtown, KY, Max Broughton of San Diego, CA, Michael (Cadi) Broughton of Menifee, CA, Ashley Broughton of Rineyville, KY, and Josh (Shantal) Haq of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Lilly, Katrina, Ryder, Charlee, Leland, and Alexus; sister, Carol Richey; and nephews, Justin Marcum, Travis Richey, Jason Richey, and Kevin Richey.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Agnes Marcum; step-mother, Thelma Marcum; and brother, David Marcum.

There will be a memorial service for Crystal on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 5:00pm EST at Worthville Baptist Church, 652 KY-467, Worthville, KY 41098. There will be a meal following the service. I will always remember Crystal as being a loyal friend. A friend that would always give a kind word, advice, and support. She was the type of person who loved with all her heart and would give anything she had to a person in need. We shared so many laughs and memories while working at Arvin Sango and from the times she would come into Pat’s Video when I worked there. To know Crystal was such a blessing and I will miss her dearly. My heart goes out to anyone who loved and knew her. I am so sorry for your loss! If my heart is broken I cannot imagine how broken your alls must be.
