Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn Hoskins

Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn Hoskins was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose vibrant personality and positive spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Cindy was a proud graduate of Doss High School in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was a gymnast and cheerleader. During her time as a cheerleader at Doss High School, Cindy was selected as a recipient of the National Coca-Cola Cheerleader Award, an accomplishment she was very proud of. She later became a semi-professional football cheerleader for the Kentucky Trackers.

Cindy had a strong work ethic throughout both her professional and personal life. She worked as an electrician for Henderson Services and was a member of Local 369 before finishing her career with the Louisville Water Company as part of their maintenance program. She was known for being extremely detail-oriented and took great pride in completing everything she did with care and perfection. She believed strongly in diversity, equity, and equality for all.

Cindy loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed the lake, ocean, boating, and swimming. She treasured swimming in the pool with her family and friends. She and her husband, Leonard, spent part of their time as “snowbirds” at Ancient Oaks Community in Okeechobee, Florida, where they made many lifelong friends. They also enjoyed their place at Kentucky Lake, where they created many wonderful memories and friendships.

Cindy was a woman of deep faith in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Her faith could be seen and felt through her words and actions. She was Catholic and attended St. Polycarp Catholic School in Louisville for six years, where she received her First Communion and Confirmation.

Cindy was dynamic and had a way of lighting up a room whenever she walked in. She was always positive and lived life with a “glass half full” attitude. She was extremely loyal, honest, independent, and could always be trusted to keep a secret. She was a peacemaker who believed in forgiveness and never held grudges. Cindy never allowed scleroderma to keep her from enjoying life or making memories with the people she loved.

She deeply loved her family and friends. She especially cherished her husband and loved cuddling with him. She adored her son, grandson, and great-grandchildren, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Cindy also had a special place in her heart for her beloved cat, Purrsy. In her free time, she enjoyed watching Yellowstone and HGTV and was a big fan of Beth Dutton.

One of Cindy’s favorite shirts said, “I am not perfect but I am genuine,” a sentiment that truly captured who she was. Cindy lived her life authentically, with kindness, faith, strength, and love.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Leonard D. Hoskins; her son, Errol Wilson; her stepson, Todd Hoskins; her grandson, Darren Wilson and his wife, Kimber Wilson; and her great-grandchildren, Mae Lynn and Melody Wilson.

She is also survived by her parents, Jerome and Nancy Atzinger; her siblings, Gina Atzinger and Lee Ann Taylor, Jerry Atzinger, Cheryl Banks and Jeff Banks, and Maria Atzinger; and her nieces and nephews, Allyson Burk and Tyler and their child, Cole; Taylor Banks and Ciara and their children, Jack and Everette; Blake Atzinger and Jackie; and Shelby Pate and Sheldon and their child, Crew.

Cindy was preceded in death by her niece, Lindsey Atzinger.

Cindy will be remembered for her beautiful spirit, unwavering faith, strength, honesty, loyalty, and incredible love for her family and friends. She brought light and positivity wherever she went and leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories. She will be deeply loved, missed, and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Mass/Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, Louisville, KY 40216.

A Celebration of Life will immediately follow from 11:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
