Dane Carwell Probus

Dane Carwell Probus, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away in 2026.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Dane was the son of Mary Elizabeth Carwell Probus and Robert Allison Probus. He was the beloved brother of Rex Allison Probus (Gayle Deidrich) and uncle to Lissa Jo Probus and Allison Leigh Probus.

He is also survived by his cousins, Len and Arlene Hougland; Timm Probus; Donn and Karen Probus; Merla Braune; Paul and Norma Probus; and his extended step-family, Pamela and Joe Wessel, Sally and Bill Vilich, Carol and Bill Faust, Dan Coaplen, and Don Coaplen.

Dane attended Iroquois High School and later studied at the University of Kentucky. Following a family tradition, he built a career in the restaurant and beverage industry, serving in management roles at the Seelbach Hotel, Owl Creek Country Club, and Frankfort Country Club.

In his free time, Dane enjoyed spending time with friends at Hikes Point Bar & Lounge, attending races at Churchill Downs, and enjoying the company of family and friends.

He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, love of people, and the many friendships he formed throughout his life.
