Daniel Allen Link, aged 83, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Born on December 29, 1942, he was the beloved son of the late Urban John Link, Sr. and Edna Elizabeth Link. Dan grew up in the Louisville area, attending St. Xavier High School before graduating from DeSales High School.
Following high school, Dan proudly answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy. His time in the military shaped his strong sense of duty, discipline, and patriotism—qualities he carried with him throughout his entire life.
A strong supporter of his community and loved ones, Dan was a dedicated provider. He spent 27 years working for General Electric before retiring. Alongside his career, he found great joy in working the land, operating a local farm where he raised cattle among other animals. Dan loved the outdoors and nature. He was truly at home in the elements, whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply spending quiet time being in the woods.
Dan was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 36 years, JoAnn Link (née Gootee).
His legacy lives on through his devoted children: Kenneth B. Link (Tracy), Christopher A. Link (Vicky), and Cynthia S. Laslie (Scott). He was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance for a Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Deibel Barn at The Maples Park, located at 6826 W. Hwy 22, Crestwood, KY 40014. Please come dressed casual, just as Dan would have liked it, and bring some stories to tell. Food will be served as we share memories and honor his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dan's name to the Oldham County Senior Life Enrichment Center in LaGrange or the Arbor Day Foundation.
