Daniel Lakes

Daniel Lakes, 42, passed away on September 2, 2025. Born on March 15, 1983, Daniel lived a life full of energy, talent, and devotion to the people he loved most.

He is survived by his mother, Patsy McWhorter; his daughters, Brenna, Brookelyn, Bailey, and Charlie; along with many aunts, cousins, and grandparents who will continue to hold him close in their hearts.

Daniel was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Denny Helton; his father, Kevin Lakes; his grandfather, Gordon McWhorter; his brother, Ricky Bailey II; and his beloved son, Daniel Lakes Jr.

A hardworking and gifted man, Daniel enjoyed fishing, working on motorcycles and cars, and spending time off-roading. Above all, his greatest joy came from being with his daughters, who were the light of his life. Daniel owned and operated his own business, Lakes Automotive, where his skills as a certified mechanic shone brightly. His patience, talent, and determination earned him the respect of many. He also loved the thrill of the racetrack, from dirt tracks to NASCAR, always finding joy in the roar of engines and the community around it.

Daniel graduated in 2002 from Ross High School. He will be remembered as a loving father, a dedicated son and brother, and a loyal friend whose laughter and generosity touched many lives.

Though his time here was far too short, Daniel leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion that will live on through his family and friends.

He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
