David Erb

David Erb, 66, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on September 10, 2026. He was born on May 10, 1960, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Robert “Bob” Erb and Ethel Wright Erb.

David was a simple man who found joy in the little things in life. He loved fishing, playing cards, and searching for treasures while recycling metals. Solitaire was his favorite, and he could always be found enjoying a game. He loved country music, listening to the radio, watching television, and spending time with his cards—all at the same time. David also enjoyed his favorite meals of bologna, eggs, and potatoes, along with a good sweet tea and coffee.

David graduated from high school and will be remembered for his unique personality, his love of the things that made him happy, and the memories he shared with those closest to him.

He is survived by his sisters, Tammy (Gary) Reed and Patricia Lynn Wright; aunts, Joyce P. Dunn, Norma Talley, Ruby Wright, Phyllis Wright, and Opal Wright; cousins, Darlene Wright, Lisa Wright, Rachel Reed, and Bobby Housin; and many nieces and nephews, including Jason Carter, Robert Carter, Megan Sallee, Michael Sallee, and Steven Sallee. He is also survived by his close friend and best friend, Bobby Amends, and his good family friend, Steven Price. His brother, Marvin B. Erb, is also remembered, and the family hopes to reconnect with him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” Erb and Ethel Erb; brothers, Tommy Erb, Robert Erb, and Michael Erb; uncles, Donnie Wright, Kenny Wright, and Joseph Wright; grandparents, Hazel Wright, Jimmy Wright, and Mabel Erb; and aunt, Betty Housin.

David will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Family will always love you. There was not enough time together, but the memories of your younger days will always remain in our hearts. We hope you are having a blast with the family in Heaven. Until we see you again on the other side, we can’t wait to be with you again.
