David Lane Boone
03/03/1943-08/26/2026
David Lane Boone was born in 1943 in the small town of Molus, located on the
Cumberland River in Harlan County Kentucky. At age 10, he was relocated with mom
and his brother, Harry to Covington, KY. He attended Third District Elementary, John G.
Carlisle Jr. High and then went on to graduate from Holmes High School in 1962.
Afterward, he attended University of Kentucky College of Engineering. He married
Shirley Joyce Mays in September 1966 and raised their two boys, David Irving and
Lonnie Matthew in Walton, KY. David is survived by his sons and their wives, 2
grandchildren-Logan and Madison, and extended family.
During his life, he worked as a Manufacturing Engineer using automated manufacturing
processes, beginning his career at Cincinnati Milacron, and retiring from Clarion
Manufacturing in management. After retirement, he enjoyed many years performing
research for his published book, traveling extensively to discover the origins of the
Boone Family. Proud of the Boone Family pedigree, he was able to trace roots six
generations back to Daniel Boone, a great uncle, and back to the 6 th century to the
Norse Raiders.
