David Whitesides

8/11/1960 - 2/25/2026

David Earl Whitesides, a lifelong resident of Louisville, KY, passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 65 while in hospice care at Baptist East Hospital.

Born on August 11, 1960, David was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Laura Mae Whitesides; sisters, Nancy Hall and Kathy Holsapple; and brother-in-law, Othel “PeeWee” Robinson.

Surviving David are his brothers, Richard (Pamela) Whitesides and Marvin (Jill) Whitesides, both of Richmond, KY. Surviving sisters are Linda Robinson of Louisville, KY; Peggy (Jesse) Nolan of London, KY; Patty (Kenny) Offutt of Shepherdsville, KY; Denise (Brad) Saylor of Louisville, KY; and Trina (Randy) Greenwell of Clarksville, IN. Surviving brother-in-law James Holsapple of Albany, KY, and eleven nieces and seven nephews.

During the last several years of his life, David especially enjoyed being with his family. We shared time through family gatherings, vacations, and poker games, making for fun and precious memories. He was hardworking and generous. A kind man who embraced Jesus through his Baptism. A beloved brother and uncle. A great friend who will be missed by many.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at the home of his sister and caretaker, Denise Saylor, as we remember and celebrate the life of our beloved brother, David Earl Whitesides.
