Deborah “Debbie” Lee Rigdon

August 31, 1954 – September 19, 2026

Deborah “Debbie” Lee Rigdon, age 72, passed away peacefully on September 19,
2026, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by love, in the arms of her husband
and lifelong love, Nathan Troy Rigdon.

Debbie was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, the only girl among four children.
Growing up with three brothers undoubtedly helped shape the strong-willed, spirited,
and nurturing woman she became. She graduated from Pleasure Ridge Park High
School. When she was 16 years old she crossed paths with a young musician while
they were both enjoying a local country music show. That chance meeting became the
beginning of a love story that would span nearly 53 years.

Debbie and Troy built a beautiful life together—one filled with family, laughter, music,
adventure, and an abundance of love. They spent most of their adult lives in Greenville
and Georgetown, Indiana, where they raised their family and created a home that was
always welcoming, always full of life, and always filled with love.

Debbie was the proud mother of Adrienne (Chris) Sprigler and Leslie (Matt) Pendleton
and the devoted Gram to Harrison (Maria) Sprigler, Lydia Sprigler, Elle Pendleton, and
Emmett Pendleton. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every
moment she was able to spend with them. Whether gathered around a table playing
cards or board games, traveling to the beach or mountains in search of a beautiful view,
taking boat rides on Patoka Lake, attending concerts, or simply enjoying time together,

Debbie was happiest when her family was near.
She was one of her daughters’ and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleaders—quite literally.
She loved being in the stands, cheering them on from the volleyball court and
celebrating every point, every accomplishment, and every moment. She took immense
pride in watching her family grow, pursue their passions, and become the people they
were meant to be. There was nothing she loved more than being their biggest
supporter.

Music was an important part of Debbie’s life and woven into so many of her happiest
memories. Her love of music began with the young musician she met at that country
music show and continued throughout her life. She loved going to concerts with her
family and, even more, loved watching Troy, her children, and her grandchildren sing
and play music. Music brought her so much joy!

Debbie was also known for her sharp business mind, incredible work ethic, and
dedication to helping others. She began Rigdon Tax Service in the early 1980s and
became an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. In 1990, her partner in life became her partner
in business as well, and Debbie and Troy went on to successfully operate Rigdon
Financial Services together for 32 years, from 1990 until 2022. Through her work,

Debbie touched the lives of countless people and earned the trust and respect of those
she served. She cared deeply about helping others and took great pride in the work she
and Troy built together.

Beyond her immediate family, Debbie treasured the relationships she shared with her
brother, Daniel (Julie Newman) Chandler, and brother-in-law Dennis Meredith, as well
as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. She had a way
of making the people she loved feel important, welcomed, and cared for.

Debbie’s greatest legacy, however, will not be found in her business accomplishments,
but in the love she gave so freely. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister,
and friend. She loved deeply, laughed often, worried fiercely, celebrated wholeheartedly,
and gave her family a lifetime of memories that will never fade.
She leaves behind a family who will miss her more than words can express, but who will
carry her love with them—in the music they make, the games they play, the roads they
travel, the views they stop to admire, and every volleyball court where they hear her
cheering them on in their hearts.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Hulsey and Richard Chandler; her
brothers, Dennis Chandler and Steve Chandler; sister-in-law Pamela Meredith; and
mother-in-law Anna Rigdon.
